• Use a silk plant cleaner such as Silks Alive to clean and restore shine to silk plants and flowers
• Use a furniture cleaner such as Pledge or Endust to dust off the leaves on a regular basis as most of these products contain chemicals which repel dust.
• Use a blow dryer or compressed air can to blow the dust off the leaves of silk plants between cleanings
• Mix a small amount of detergent into warm water and use this solution to spray onto the silks and then wipe off with cloth.
• Use a protective chemical such as Scotch Guard to spray on the silks when new to help prevent damage from water stains, dirt, and sometimes sun damage.
• Some silks (especially older ones) must be "dry dusted" with a special dust collecting material, such as the Swiffer Duster.
• For trees with plastic trunks and silk leaves, it may be possible to simply hose them down with water and dab them dry. Never allow silks to stand with water on them as this can cause dye to run, fade, or possibly could loosen glue holding silks together.
